Left wing Jewish liberal here. I couldn’t agree more with both of you guys AND the Huffpost article, although I would beg to differ that the Left doesn’t bitch and moan about human rights in the countries that you’ve mentioned. I think they do. I think that Israel is slightly more of a lightning rod because of the closeness between our countries. MY issue is with right wing conservative Jews who label me as antisemitic if I EVER criticize Israeli policies or imperfections. That should stop.
All infidels should support Israel. That is all.

The Huffington Post cementers are consistently venomously anti Israel and anti Jewish in general.
Read the Huffington Post, register, and comment in support of Israel.

@jonnysouthjersey : There is a web site on FB, for anyone who wants to show support against the way men in Islamic society treat women and children. It is very abusive, almost to the point that it is unfathomable. If you want to take a stand, the title of the web site is “WOMEN OF THE WORLD UNITED AGAINST ISLAMIC/MUSLIM SHARIA LAW” (it is all in caps, if that matters). All Americans, regardless of background or political party, should be against the Islamic treatment of women AND for Israel
@awarehumanity : This is not a right / left issue, nor is it a party issue. A majority of Americans, no matter what walk of life we come from, find the treatment of women — as well as children — in the Islamic world unconscionable.

I think all Americans should support Israel, from the far Left to the far Right. Israel is by far the closest thing to America in the entire Middle East.
What about the environment, a big Liberal Cause. Israel is the only country in the World to have more trees in the year 2000, than it did in the year 1900. Israel is the world’s leader in recycling water, and in water conservation; no other country comes close. Israel leads the world in developing and promoting green energy, such as solar power.
If you are Pro -Environment you MUST be Pro – Israel

I am a leftist who supports Israel and almost every liberal I know supports Israel. I have no idea where people get the idea that the left is no longer supportive of Israel.The article is very good, it gives a fairly concise explanation of why supporting Israel is a liberal cause.
