LOVE IT, True art. so many play this to impress and cziffra plays to make an artistic statement. his improvisations on this show his real understanding of the music.

Me encanta esta versión! Lleva un tiempo mucho más lento que el normal en este estudio. Así es mucho más emotivo y apasionado!

    regard to Haeronthegreat:
i would love to love everything that I encounter!
life’s great! no need to hate, or doubt…just experience it.
I love Liszt and Cziffra’s playing…hope everybody who loves Liszt would try playing Liszt themselves. Maybe soon I would post my playing of Mazeppa, and whether you think it’s good or bad, hopefully u’ll feel my passion!

Haeronthegreat sounds like another soulless heart. yet how can even one with no soul criticize cziffra’s mastery?

Good. Liszt wrote the expressive marking “desperate” there, so if it makes you cry, then Cziffra did something right there.

    the best appassionata ever

This Gaveau should be broken after Cziffra finished all the program! His playing is incredible and powerful!!

    Fabulous!
I’m sure Liszt wouldn’t have bothered about some much freedom. And I’m just as sure that many people do.

Haha yeah I guess that is kind of true
I mean more that I personally really like the freedom that Cziffra has with this piece, I think that it sounds beautiful and I like the contrast between the slower, lyrical sections and the faster, storming sections

@PianoMan1836 What a ridiculous argument, yet one that is unfortunately common on youtube. I hope you like every piece of food you’ve tasted. Every film you’ve seen. Every recording of everything you’ve heard. Every pop song, every jazz recording, every jazz player, every piece ever written. Do you see?

@Haeronthegreat This recording is magnificent, Haeronthegreat
Why don’t you post a recording of your own that’s better than this? Then you can criticize this.

Transcendantale ?

Is this a narrative or not, Mr. Cziffra? Or is it, as you seem to think, a piece which has certain sections that are for poetry and certain sections just to show off? Try to make your mind up, then try again.
